Creatures &' Special abilities
von Minerva am 05.04.2020 18:18Generally:
In order to play a special creature, you need an Administrator's permission. Every decision on that matter is individual. If you wish that your character is a special creature or has any special abilities, please write to an Administrator and tell them the reason why your character is a good fit for that specific characteristic.
Vampires
There are two different sorts of Vampires:
Transformed Vampires: Those who were transformed by another vampire when they were still human. The transformation takes 24 hours and is a very painful process: First, the vampire needs to drink the blood of their victim, which has to get the blood of the vampire in return. Then, the victim needs to die with the vampire's blood still in their organism. The transformation is complete as soon as the new vampire drinks the blood of his own first victim. If they don't do that, they die.
Characteristics: completely white skin, red eyes which cannot be covered up, fangs as soon as they smell blood, cannot survive without human blood (can drink without killing their victim), females cannot get pregnant, cannot do magic and do not go to Hogwarts, active at night
Abilities: hypnotizing effect on the opposite gender, very sharp senses, high speed, after a lot of practise they can transform into bats or fly
Half Vampires: If a human woman has a vampires baby, the baby will be a so-called half vampire. It's always uncertain whether such a child survives. In case a half vampire woman gets pregnant, the child will barely have any of the following traits and if the mother is human, there is even a chance that the baby will be, too.
Characteristics: there eyes can get a red glimmer, fangs as soon as they smell blood, only very rarely need to drink blood, can eat normal food
Abilities: slightly higher speed than humans, slightly sharper senses than humans
Half Giants
Normal witches/wizards who have one giant parent. They are immune to relatively week curses like Stupify, so they do not need the Protego charm. Often they deny their ancestry as they are often falsely accused of something. Therefore, it is also hard for them to find work.
Werewolves
Witch or wizard who is forced to transform into a wolf at full moon after having been bitten by another werewolf. There are a lot of evil werewolves, but also some who are trying to lead a normal life. However, they are barely accepted by society.
If a female werewolf has a child, the child will also be a werewolf, no matter whether the other parent is human. As long as the child does not reach puberty, it only transforms into a wolf that shows signs of rabies and might not be tamed. When they reach puberty, however, they transform to a fully-grown wolf. If the father is a werewolf, it the first transformation will not take place until the beginning of puberty.
Transformed werewolves are wild, unpredictable and trying to bite everyone. They do neither recognize friends nor family.
Veela
Veela are very beutiful, mostly female creatures. Male Veela are very rare, but if one is born, it is always considered a reason to celebrate. They can have various hair, eye or skin colours, but most of the time they have either blond or black hair. Those creatures have a strongly attracting effect on the opposite gender (or their own, if the other person is homo- or bisexual), no matter whether they are in a romantic relationship or not. If a Veela gets furious, they will transform into an ugly creature with wings and have command over the element fire.
Pure-blooded Veela are not able to do magic with a wand and therefore do not go to Hogwarts. Half-Veela, however, can have magical talent, if their other parent is a witch or a wizard. The more Veela blood a person has, the more pronounced are the attributes mentioned above in them.
Merpeople
There are four different types of Merpeople
Scotish Selkies: They live only under water and can only speak and understand Mermish. Their outward appearence and their traditions can vary but they mostly have green eyes and green skin. Generally they are not quite beautiful, you can even call them ugly. They whished to be categorized as beasts long ago. Selkies are able to propagate themselves with other Merpeople, humans or witches and wizards. Like the other Merpeople they usually love music.
Irish Merrows: Irish Merrows are exactly like the Scotish Selkies, the only difference is that the Merrows are from Ireland and call themselves their own type of Merpeople.
Greek Sirens: They are the oldest recorded merpeople and exceptionally beautiful. They use their singing voices to lure sailors into the water. Like Veela they have a strongly attracting effect on the opposite gender (or their own, if the other person is homo- or bisexual), no matter whether they are in a romantic relationship or not. Their appearence can vary but they look exactly like you'd imagine a "real" mermaid. Sirens are able to propagate themselves with other Merpeople, humans or witches and wizards.
Half Merpeople
If Merpeople reproduce with humans or witches and wizards, a half Siren/Merrow/Selkie is born. The child can even practise magic and visit a magical school, with the headmaster's permission of course, if one parent is a magician. They are able to learn and speak Mermish and every other language. Half Merpeople also can walk and look like humans, but if they get wet, they will transform into a creature of sea with a fish's tail. Then they need to get under water because there is the great danger of drying out and dying fast. The Half Merpeople are not able to live their whole life under water or completly on land, they have to find a good balance between their worlds.
Half Sirens are exceptionally beautiful in their human shape, too. Often they are mistaken for a Veela.
Half Selkies or Half Merrows have mostly green eyes and are very tall in their human shape.
If Merpeople reproduce with other Merpeople, a mix between two races is developed.
