General Rules

von Minerva am 05.04.2020 12:01

1. In general, everybody is allowed to join this community. Please take notice, however, that we have an age recommendation of at least 12 years. That also means that it is not allowed to write in detail about physical intimacies In-Play.

2. Every player is to be treated with respect. Of course you are allowed to criticise or carry out conflicts, but please remember to be polite. If you are in disagreement, please use the personal messages, not the forum.

3. Please stick to grammar and spelling rules. Of course you do not need to write perfectly by any means, but an overall correct orthography as well as punctuation marks make it a lot easier to read a post ;)

4. Rules as well as instructions by Administrators are to be followed.

5. Please register with the first name of your character (e.g. "Benedict"). If they are supposed to only be adressed by nickname, you can also make that (e.g. "Ben") your user name. In case two characters have the same first name, please register as First nameSurname (e.g. "BenedictHill").

6. Every information given by J.K. Rowling (including the "Fantastic Beasts" movies) is considered a fact by us. Exceptions are contradictory statements by J.K. Rowling/the books/the movies. In this Please enter "ral" into the profile field "Have you read the rules?" case, the affected characters may choose themselves what they consider as canon. There decision, however, must be followed by every player.

7. This Role Play Game [RPG] takes place in 1935, which means that most of the characters from the original seven Harry Potter books were not born yet. Therefore, please do not register as those characters. Please also read the Storyline [Link] in order to get an overview of what is happening in the muggle world and the magical world at that time.

8. Generally, every user is allowed to choose their character's family status, occupation and history freely. However, those information must not contradict information given by J.K. Rowling. Furthermore, the first member of a family has the right to determine their constellation, which means that they can decide e.g. how many children, whether the parents are still together... as soon as there are more members, however, they must decide together on changes of the constellation, e.g. separation of the parents. If you want to create a new member of an existing family, please write to the existing family members first and respect their decision.

9. Please pay attention to the fact that real Purebloods are really rare. "Purebloods" are only people, whose ancestors (from the side of the father and the mother) have had magical talent for at least eight generations, so please think thoroughly before you choose this blood status and consider using a name from the Harry Potter books of which we know that it belongs to a pureblood family.

10. Please ask an Administrator for permission before you choose a special creature or ability for your character. Concerning this, please also read the Creatures and Abilities Rules [Link]

11. Please stay realistic concerning the character traits, looks and abilities of your character. You do not need to create an ugly, lazy know-it-all (also you can, of course ;)), but please think about adding strengths and positive character traits and weaknesses and negative character traits equally. So-called "Mary-Sue"s or "Gary-Stu"s are not welcome here.

12. Teachers are allowed to do classes In-Play, but they are not oblighed to. However, experience shows that class plays can be very interesting, which is why we created a curriculum [Link] to give you an idea what you lessons might be about. The lessons will take place as event plays, so everybody can attend without ending their other plays first. Also, if the teacher likes, they may give homework. Attendance and/or homework are not obligatory, though. Both can be done independet of each other.

13. In general, characters are deleted after two month of inactivity (without writing a post, no matter when the account was online last). If there are other characters active which belong to the same player, the character will only be deleted after four months of inactivity. In both cases, a warning will be sent after one month of inactivity.

14. Please do not create characters, beings etc. from other fandoms (e.g. books or movies). Stay within the possibilities of the Harry Potter world.

Please enter "ly" into the profile field "Have you read the rules?".
